About

Aja Shurrie Parks

Hello, I’m Āja.

For a long time, I lived by a script I didn’t write. I was the version of myself that made everyone else comfortable—the “jean skirt” era, the rose-colored glasses, the woman who was present but often hidden in the scenery.

In 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic, a seed was planted. It was a call to stop being “safe” and start being Unapologetically Āja.

The Journey of Refinement

My journey hasn’t been a straight line to success; it’s been a cocoon process. Between 2021 and 2026, life happened—family loss, ministry shifts, and the quiet, hard work of building integrity when no one was watching. I had to learn that you can’t carry a vision if you aren’t willing to be refined by the fire.

I’ve traded the “House of Cards” for a foundation built on truth. I’ve traded the filters for the beauty of my own skin and my natural, salt-and-pepper journey.

What You’ll Find Here

This space is for the woman standing at her own drawing board, wondering if she’s allowed to occupy space. It’s for anyone who is tired of the fairytale and ready for the reality. We talk about:

  • Faith & Integrity: Choosing the narrow path, even when it’s lonely.
  • Physical Discipline: From 5:30 AM gym sessions to fueling the body with intention.
  • The Metamorphosis: The honest, unfiltered process of becoming who you were always meant to be.

the foundation:

I believe in the power of being planted and the strength of a legacy. My growth and my walk are anchored by a strong spiritual and communal foundation:

  • Spiritual Covering: I am blessed to be under the leadership and spiritual guidance of Bishop David Screven and the late Mother Billie Screven. Their wisdom and legacy are the bedrock of my continued growth in faith and integrity.

  • The Pursuing Purpose Mentoring Program: I was honored to be a member of the inaugural class under the mentorship of Kim Helton, through Woman of Purpose, founded by LaQuinta Gilmore.

  • Voice & Advocacy: Featured guest on the “So She Did” podcast with Sha’Onnah Hunt and a recurring contributor on various platforms discussing the beauty of transition.

Welcome to the journey.
